Dr. Jeannine N. Bailliu

Jeannine is a seasoned macroeconomist with a breadth of experience leading and conducting economic analysis and research on international and Canadian policy issues. Her research covers a range of topics and has been widely published, including in peer-reviewed journals. She also has extensive experience developing model-based quarterly projections for the global economic outlook and identifying associated risks.

She spent over twenty years conducting and directing macroeconomic analysis at the Bank of Canada where she held a number of senior roles including Senior Policy Advisor, Director of Emerging Markets and Director of Canadian Economic Studies. She also worked at Statistics Canada, the C.D. Howe Institute and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). She has studied and worked in many countries including Argentina, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland and the United States, and is a citizen of both Canada and France.

A dynamic and engaging communicator, Jeannine has over two decades of experience making impactful presentations of policy analysis, research and the economic outlook to diverse audiences including senior leadership at the Bank of Canada. She is an effective communicator in both of Canada’s official languages and is also fluent in Spanish.
